We are a rock 'n' roll band based out of Fort Collins, Colorado. Collectively, we’re friends who’ve performed in parts of Europe and across the United States: from the peaks of the Continental Divide and the shores of the Great Lakes down to the voodoo bayous of the Southern Swamplands.

Bitten by the "Funk Bug" as a small child, this Minnesota-born songwriter enjoys nothin' more than shakin' it from time to time! And whilst not "dropping it like it's hot," he's employing music's ability to exorcise the former demons of Heartbreak and Young-Man's-Angst.
His "slap-n-pop-finger-rakin' " Acoustic Guitar playing features the fierce and funky rhythmic "guitar wrestling style" of Keller Williams and Michael Hedges, while his passionate, gut-bucket vocals becken back to a time when churches didn't have microphones and singers had to sing to be heard!
Free of any specific genre, he's played from the shores of the Great Lakes down to the Florida Everglades, and recently, he began calling upon the endless inspiration of the Rocky Mountains!

A "Seoul Brotha" of the truest sense, James was born in South Korea's capital city before growing up in the cornfield-confinement of northwest Ohio. Before escaping to Colorado, he collected a magazine journalism degree from Ohio University in the colorful (think GREEN!) college town of Athens, Ohio.
His searing leads, greasy slide guitar and velvety smooth vocals are welcome any day of the week! Enamored by both songwriters and guitarists, his influences grew toward those doing both. His playing is honest and tasteful in the vein of Eric Clapton and Warren Haynes, while both his guitar and vocals are heavily influenced by the Blues tradition, soul music, funk and jazz or anything steeped "in the feeling!"
He also currently plays guitar in the 11-piece funk-n-R&B band Archie Funker. Away from playing music, he's an avid hiker and concert-goer who has journeyed across 40 states and traveled through parts of Europe. And though it was difficult to admit publicly for about 14 years straight, he's a die-hard Cincinnati Bengals fan!

We're happy to have an old friend and familiar face behind the kit! Chris is a veteran of the live music circuit, producer in the studio and former bandmate of James and Ehren, so we're glad to have him on board. Through the years, his multi-instrumental talents have led him through funk, jazz, reggae, rock and afro-cuban stylings, all of which shine through as he drives the band from his drum stool!

Better Than Bacon is thrilled to welcome Frankie into the family! He made his first road trip with the boys up to Keystone resort for three nights of the Blue Ribbon Bacon Fest in June and we couldn't have had a more fun (or appropriate!) atmosphere to welcome him to the crew! More to come on Frankie....!
